Game Play
NFHS rules will govern play with the following adaptations:
Length of Game
Games will be 7 inning games unless the time limit is reached
2 hour time limit - no new inning may begin after 2 hours, clock starts when home pitcher begins his/her warmup pitches
10 run rule - if a team is leading by 10 or more runs after the opposing team has had five turns at bat, the game will end
15 run rule - if a team is leading by 15 or more runs after the opposing team has had four turns at bat, the game will end
Games ending in a tied score
If after 7 innings, the score is tied, teams will play extra innings until the time limit is reached.
Once the time limit is reached, the following game ending rules will apply.
The extra inning begins with one out and the hitter proceeding the first batter of the inning will be placed at second base.
Each batter will begin his/her time at bat with a 1 ball, 1 strike count.
A maximum of three extra innings will be played. If the score remains tied after three extra innings have been played, the result of the game will be declared a tie.

EH may substitute on defense for any player at any time

Pitch Count
WIAA pitch count rules will apply
0-30 pitches - 0 days required rest
31-49 pitches - 1 day required rest
50-75 pitches - 2 days required rest
75-100+ pitches - 3 days required rest
If a pitcher reaches the 100-pitch threshold during a batter's time at bat, he/she may finish pitching to that batter and must be removed thereafter.
Pitch count rules apply only within the Select league. Pitch counts accrued outside the Select league will not affect pitcher availability.
Speed up rules (courtesy runners)
Any player not currently in the lineup may courtesy run at any time for either the pitcher or catcher who occupied those positions at the conclusion of the last half inning. Substitutions may not be projected for the purpose of using a courtesy runner.
If a team is batting a continuous lineup, the player which made the last recorded out will be the courtesy runner. If no out has been recorded in the inning, the player who made the last out of the previous inning will be the courtesy runner.
